Looking up from the chopping board

Why the kitchen is the heart of every home we build, and how we frame the countryside from the worktop.

Luxury in the details

A kitchen should be more than a place to cook. In a Carden home it is where the day starts and where guests end up, so it earns the best materials in the house: quartz worktops, a Quooker boiling tap, integrated Miele appliances, and cabinetry made to the millimetre.

The details are quiet. Brushed-brass handles that warm with age. A utility room off the hallway so the kitchen stays calm. Underfloor heating so the porcelain tiles are never cold underfoot.

Designed to frame the view

Every kitchen at Old Hall is orientated towards the garden or the paddocks. Full-height sliding glass turns the countryside into the fourth wall, and the island is positioned so you cook facing it.
